A new leak claims that the DLC for Resident Evil Requiem might bring players back to the iconic Spencer Mansion, which appeared in the first game in the series. Resident Evil Requiem was released in early 2026 by Capcom, with a story that brought back some of the most iconic elements of the franchise. Leon S. Kennedy came back as one of the protagonists, and the game also saw players return to the ruins of Racoon City.

Raccoon City was the setting for Resident Evil 2 and 3, but the first game and its 2002 remake took place at the Spencer Mansion located in the fictional Arklay Mountains. Another remake of Resident Evil 1 is rumored to be in development, though Capcom has not confirmed the game's existence at this time.

Resident Evil fans desperately want a movie that feels like the video games, and they might finally get it with the upcoming reboot.

In a post on Twitter, leaker AestheticGamer has claimed that a return to the Spencer Mansion was planned for Resident Evil Requiem. The area was scrapped during development, but may have been "repurposed" for the DLC. Resident Evil Requiem's story DLC was previously announced, but Capcom has offered little in the way of details. This has led to a lot of speculation about what the developers have planned, and exactly when it will be released.

AestheticGamer was quick to note that plans could change as development proceeds on the DLC. However, this is already leading to a lot of questions from fans about how Spencer Mansion could appear in Resident Evil Requiem .
