Red Dead Redemption 2 Now Has a Nemesis System

A brand-new release has brought Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor's Nemesis System to Red Dead Redemption 2. On the surface, RDR2 seems like it could use a feature like this, and it's excellent in practice, too.

The Nemesis System was invented for Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor in 2014. The feature let every enemy in the game rise through the ranks of opposing factions, making them more powerful and notable to the player. It turned what would otherwise be forgettable NPCs into a core part of the gameplay loop. Warner Bros. patented the Nemesis System, meaning it could not be implemented in other games in the years to come, except for Shadow of War, the sequel to Shadow of Mordor.

Story mode's missions are a massive hurdle most players must jump over to truly and freely inhabit the world that Rockstar Games has created.

Now, thanks to a new mod named enRage on Nexus Mods by user nicklovin99, the Nemesis System has arrived in Red Dead Redemption 2 . " NPCs now remember player actions, and players now develop a reputation over time as a result. If players rob a man, he may not forget and hunt the player further down the line. When a character is greeted and the player learns their name, they are now a permanent character in the world, playing their role in the Nemesis System.
