Ratchet & Clank: Ranger Rumble Shutting Down In 2027

Ratchet & Clank: Ranger Rumble, a new mobile hero shooter spin-off, launched globally in October, but it's already being shut down.

"We've made the difficult decision to cease development," developer Oh BiBi announced. "The final planned update will be rolling out November 6th, 2026, and the app will be removed from stores on November 21st, 2026. Players who already have the game will be able to continue playing until May 1st, 2027, when the game’s servers will permanently shut down."

Oh BiBi explained that once the servers have been taken offline, "the game will no longer load" and all player data will be wiped from the servers. In the meantime, in-app purchases have been disabled, and the Super Pass is now free.

Ranger Rumble is the first new entry in the Ratchet & Clank series since Rift Apart in 2021, set in Captain Qwark's "totally safe simulation." Each match is essentially a training mission, with 12 unique heroes spanning from Zed to Tempest and Lump, with new Lombax characters like Sprocket, Chip, Widget, and Mopz thrown into the mix. Bizarrely, however, Ratchet was an event exclusive character.

At this point, us Ratchet fans will take what we can get.

The game also featured a few different modes to choose from, including a battle royale and Rocket League-esque match up:

You might be surprised to hear that there was a free-to-play Ratchet & Clank hero shooter on mobile , but it was pretty well-received among those who did play it.
