Phantom Blade Zero Sells 4 Million Copies in 72 Hours

Phantom Blade Zero is officially the next big thing. Developer S-Game has announced that its wuxia-themed action game has surpassed a significant milestone in just a few days.

Within 72 hours of going on sale, Phantom Blade Zero has sold 4 million copies. The official X / Twitter account posted the news with a message: “Thank you everyone from the bottom of our hearts for all the love and support!”

Even on its first day, it was clear this was going to be a beast. Phantom Blade Zero was ahead of Steam’s biggest games, from PUBG to Dota 2, topping the Steam charts as soon as it launched. It was also the best-selling game on Steam by revenue, ahead of Modern Warfare 4, Aion 2, and Probably Stolen, a Cyberpunk shopkeeper sim that's going viral. Steam concurrents peaked on Sunday with a whopping 833,921 players.

The early success shouldn't come as a huge surprise. Last week, it was estimated that Phantom Blade Zero had sold over 1 million copies before launch across launch platforms Steam and PS5, and Tencent’s WeGame (an online PC storefront in China). Nearly two thirds of total prelaunch sales were from China, Taiwan, or Hong Kong.

IGN's Phantom Blade Zero review returned a 9/10. We said: "Phantom Blade Zero is an unbelievably smooth action game filled with memorable boss fights, compelling combat, and limitless swagger."

Phantom Blade Zero is a monster hit, but it's not quite on par with Black Myth: Wukong, which managed 10 million sales in the first three days .
