Phantom Blade Zero has received a fair bit of criticism for its impact and combat sounds, but it turns out that can be instantly fixed by changing a single setting.
As you can tell from the glowing reviews, Phantom Blade Zero is an undeniable hit that has gone on to be one of the highest-rated games of 2026. TheGamer’s own Sam Woods even gave it a rare perfect score, which should go to show just how fantastic S-Game’s debut title is. Of course, that doesn’t mean players haven’t found some issues.
One of the more notable complaints that’s arisen over the past few days since Phantom Blade Zero launched is to do with its audio, which some have said is mixed poorly. This is most noticeable in combat, with most hits lacking the impact that they should have. As it turns out, this can actually be fixed in a matter of seconds.
Over on Twitter, cmhnd35 shared a post that’s started going viral with Phantom Blade Zero players. The tweet points out how “the whole world was saying the hit feedback feels weak” and “impact sucks”, before revealing that there’s actually a very quick way to completely nullify that complaint.
We finally got our hands on Phantom Blade Zero, and it's everything we hoped.
If you head into the game’s audio settings and scroll down, you can find an option for Weapon Clash Tone and Weapon Clash Intensity . By default, Weapon Clash Tone is set at 60, but cmhnd35 recommends putting it up to 80 instead.
