Persona 4 Revival Producer Shuts Down Popular Fan Romance Theory

The producer of Persona 4 Revival made an official statement on a longstanding request from fans, confirming that the Persona 4 remake will not include a romance route for Yosuke. The high volume of fan requests for a Yosuke romance in Persona 4 Revival comes from a scrapped route from the original game.

The upcoming remake of one of the Persona franchise's most popular games is set to bring plenty of positive changes to the beloved RPG. Persona 4 Revival incorporates plenty of quality-of-life changes from Persona 5 and Persona 3 Reload, including the addition of a minimap outside dungeons and the ability to advance the Social Links for Persona 4's cast of characters through text messages. The remake also adds plenty of new mechanics in its combat, including the flashy "Prime Time" feature that allows characters to use abilities with no HP or SP cost. However, one highly requested change is now confirmed not to be included in the Persona 4 remake.

Persona 6's PlayStation Store listing includes interesting new details for the upcoming game's core story and themes.

During an interview at Gamescom, Persona 4 producer Kazuhisa Wada confirmed that Persona 4 Revival will not allow players to romance Yosuke Hanamura. Wada addressed the high volume of requests for a Yosuke romance route, but quashed rumors of the scrapped route appearing within the game, suggesting that the route would prompt romance routes for all the male characters. The producer suggested that the amount of work that would go into creating three entirely new romance routes would be too great for the studio, alongside the multitude of changes being made to the Persona 4 remake .
