I have no shame in admitting that, personally, I am terrified of the dark, so I would absolutely never explore anything or travel during the night. Well, unless we are in a friendly world where the night is cozy and full of fairy lights. Fortunately (or unfortunately), not every open-world game makes its nighttime a pleasant experience, giving players a very good reason to be afraid of the dark.
Of course, sometimes traveling after sunset can bring some pretty good rewards, but it is often a dangerous endeavor in open-world games, and even the most experienced players might want to reconsider. In general, going out at night in these next games is not for the faint of heart, and if you are playing one of them, you'd better get cozy in bed instead.
Several PlayStation Plus tiers currently include one of the most acclaimed modern open-world RPGs around, packed with dozens of hours of content.
Darkwood is an open-world survival horror game that takes place in a mysterious forest. Of course, you are not alone there. There are plenty of hostile creatures and disturbing supernatural occurrences that you need to deal with if you want to find your way out of the woods. During the day, you can safely explore different locations, collect any supplies you may need, and even meet strange characters.
However, once the sun goes down, the game introduces additional enemies, and players must prepare their shelter by barricading entrances, setting traps, and making sure that they have enough fuel to power their generator.
