One Piece Creator Oda Introduces Two New God Transformations Rivaling Nika

In One Piece chapter 1044, which was officially released on March 28, 2022, in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump Issue 17, Eiichiro Oda unveiled arguably the greatest transformation in all of One Piece when Luffy's Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika finally started to awaken. This chapter led to the birth of Luffy's ultimate weapon, that is, Gear 5.

This transformation allowed Luffy to become the Sun God Nika and present himself as the Warrior of Liberation. Luffy gained an all-white form with a body far more rubbery than ever before and the ability to turn his imagination into reality. Up until now, Gear 5 was quite easily the strongest transformation that we had in One Piece, but in the climax of the Elbaf arc, that changed. With the release of One Piece Chapter 1193 on September 14, 2026, in Shueisha Weekly Shonen Jump Double Issue 42-43, we now have two more powerful god transformations that rival Luffy's Nika form.

Monkey D. Luffy's Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika, is quite easily one of the most powerful Devil Fruits in the entire series. While its base version isn't all that impressive, once awakened, this fruit grants one the power to transform into a mythical God whose powers are almost impossible to match. That said, there are still some entities in the world of One Piece that can match it, and One Piece's Elbaf arc has proven just that.

"Awakening [the Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika] further strengthens their rubber body and gives them even more freedom, limited only by their own imagination.
