PUBLSH's long-term vision is offering "publisher-level leadership without publisher-level control," says chief strategy officer
A new game publisher, PUBLSH, has been established by former leadership from marketing agency Petrol.
PUBLSH's first title is the episodic murder mystery Pera Coda, a Disco Elysium-inspired game developed by Turkish studio Elyzio and its internal division Falan Studio.
PUBLSH, headquartered in California, was co-founded in 2025 by CEO Ben Granados and chief strategy officer Samuel Clarke.
Granados previously co-founded Petrol, which has worked with gaming brands and IP from Activision Blizzard, Bandai Namco, CD Projekt, Epic Games, Game Science, Krafton, Sony Interactive Entertainment, and Tencent.
Clarke tells GamesIndustry.biz that PUBLSH identified an opportunity to offer "experienced, collaborative and flexible" support as a publisher with an ad background, including direct project investments and tailored financing for developers.
Currently funded by its founders, PUBLSH is "considering bringing in a small group of outside investors who share our long-term vision for the business," Clarke says.
Clarke describes PUBLSH's long-term vision as offering "publisher-level leadership without publisher-level control." He adds: "We're deliberately selective, highly collaborative and deeply embedded with the teams we partner with."
PUBLSH's team brings experience "across product and portfolio strategy, business development, financing, platform, and distribution relationships" as well as "audience development, marketing, communications, and go-to-market execution."
Clarke states that PUBLSH aims to publish "roughly four to five games per year," describing this as "deliberately small." The company will focus on projects with development budgets below $20 million.
"We want enough operational space to invest deeply in every studio we partner with," says Clarke.
