New $3,000 Lord of the Rings Release Officially Announced

The Mines of Moria remain one of the most memorable locations in The Lord of the Rings, and now a special new $3,000 release takes fans right back. The ancient dwarven kingdom of Moria is filled with abandoned halls, crumbling stonework, and the remnants of a civilization that once thrived beneath the mountains. Unfortunately for the Fellowship, Moria's greatest dangers aren't limited to its dark corridors, as Orcs and far more imposing creatures await within its ruins.

The Cave Troll's sheer size makes it especially dangerous, forcing the Fellowship to work together as the battle unfolds. It's the kind of scene that has helped keep the original Lord of the Rings trilogy popular with collectors, particularly those looking to bring its most recognizable creatures and battles into their own Lord of the Rings displays.

A Lord of the Rings game from the early 2010s gets a surprise physical re-release, bringing PlayStation 5 discs back into the picture.

Now, Prime 1 Studio is bringing the Cave Troll of Moria to collectors with a massive new quarter-scale release available through Sideshow. Priced at $3,000+, the collectible recreates the titular creature from The Fellowship of the Ring with an imposing presence designed to capture the scale of the original film design. The bonus version also includes an additional helmeted head for an armored Orc, giving collectors another detail from the battle to display.

5 pounds. Its elaborate base features shattered stonework, rubble, attacking Orcs, and Balin's fallen body, recreating the chaos of the Fellowship's fight inside the mines.
