Nearly 10 Years Later, Daredevil Fans Again Petition To Save The Show

Marvel Studios announced earlier this week that Daredevil: Born Again will end with Season 3, and showrunner Dario Scardapane has left during post-production after Disney declined to renew his contract, despite reports that reshoots are underway.

Born Again faced a rocky production, beginning as an 18-episode season in 2022 with Matt Corman and Chris Ord as head writers, before production halted during the 2023 strikes, when Marvel opted for a complete creative reset. Corman and Ord were let go, and Scardapane was brought on board. You could feel that tumultuous shake-up in the first season, but season two was widely agreed to have found its footing, with many hoping that the third season would mark the show finally coming into its own. Instead, it's shaping up to be an abrupt end.

Despite the show's troubled production, fans are still desperate to see more from Charlie Cox, Deborah Ann Woll, and perhaps even Elden Henson, if you buy into the witness protection theories. So, much like in 2018, a petition urging Disney to "continue Daredevil Born Again" has been made on Change.org, amassing over 1,600 signatures in just two days. That's nowhere near the half-a-million signatures amassed by the original #SaveDaredevil campaign, but the fact that fans are reaching for the same playbook eight years later is striking.
