Mike Mignola Resurrects the Hellboy Universe for B.P.R.D.: Declassified

Even the end of the world can't keep the Hellboy franchise down. Creator Mike Mignola is once again revisiting his most iconic horror universe for a new miniseries called B.P.R.D.: Declassified.

IGN can exclusively reveal the cover art and first details for B.P.R.D.: Declassified #1, which releases in February 2027. See artist Mike Norton's cover art below:

B.P.R.D.: Declassified is cowritten by Mignola and Chris Roberson (iZombie), with art by Norton (Battlepug) and colors by Hellboy mainstay Dave Stewart. The first issue also features a variant cover by Gabriel Hardman (Green Lantern: Earth One).

"We’ve been teasing around the edges of a larger story involving an occult cold war in the pages of Hellboy and the B.P.R.D. and elsewhere for a while now, usually in the background of another supernatural investigation or monster hunt of some kind,” said Roberson in a press release. “B.P.R.D.: Declassified is a chance to pull the curtain back a bit and focus our full attention on what’s been going on in the shadows, and to see that the agents of the B.P.R.D. aren’t the only players on the board. The stakes are higher than Susan Xiang and company ever suspected."

B.P.R.D.: Declassified #1 will be released on February 17. You can preorder a copy at your local comic shop.
