Solo Leveling currently stands as the most popular and widely known of the manhwa medium. However, just because it's the most popular series in South Korea doesn't mean it has no rivals in the manhwa world. Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint, a story by Sing Shong, has garnered a lot of traction over the years, and its story is widely acclaimed by fans in and outside of South Korea.
While awaiting its official anime debut sometime in 2028, we've all turned our attention towards its new release. This new release comes in the form of its manhwa adaptation, which had previously gone on hiatus in May 2026. Now, finally, Webtoon has officially announced its grand return starting November 24, 2026, with the release of Season 2. Kim Dokja's Isekai story is finally continuing forward and reestablishing itself as the worthy rival of Solo Leveling and Sung Jinwoo.
Manhwa have slowly, but surely, been growing in popularity outside of their home country, South Korea. The popularization started with the likes of The God of High School and Tower of God, and more recently, in 2024, with the success of Solo Leveling. The popularity of Solo Leveling has thus led to a Manhwa boom, with more series trying to replicate its success. While most series fail to even come close to Solo Leveling, one Manhwa has a strong shot, and that's a brilliant series known as Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint.
Anyone who is into manhwa knows of Sing Shong’s hit story. Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint’s plot follows Kim Dokja, the protagonist who is transported into the world of a story that only he has read and knows the ending of.
