Warhorse Studios hasn't specified if user data was part of the hack
Kingdom Come: Deliverance developer Warhorse Studios appears to be the latest game studio hit by a cyberattack. The studio confirmed in a statement that it was affected by a cybersecurity incident and is currently assessing the extent of the damage. Czech-based Warhorse is apparently working with cybersecurity experts and “relevant authorities” as it opens an investigation.
“This is a serious incident for Warhorse Studios and everyone affected,” said Martin Frývaldský, CEO of Warhorse Studios. “Our immediate priority is to secure our systems, establish the full extent of the breach, and take the necessary steps to protect our employees, partners, and community. We are dedicating the resources needed to address this situation and will communicate further information as soon as we responsibly can.”
Warhorse said it won’t be conducting interviews or providing additional comments about the situation, and that it will share further verified information when it becomes available.
Video game studios have faced a wave of cyberattacks in recent years, with Grand Theft Auto 6 developer Rockstar Games arguably taking the brunt of it. In September, Rockstar was hacked by the group ShinyHunters. Before that, Cyberleeks hit the company and released stolen GTA 6 gameplay footage and, years prior, Rockstar suffered a major breach which revealed an early development build.
Warhorse Studios has developed two games, Kingdom Come: Deliverance and its 2025 sequel. Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 was released on Feb. 4, 2025, to widespread critical acclaim and sold over 4 million copies by the end of that year.
