Grand Theft Auto 6 doesn't just look visually impressive; it also has a killer sound thanks to French electronic music duo Justice. Composing the soundtrack for any game is no easy feat, but with GTA 6 generating an unprecedented amount of hype, the team of Gaspard Augé and Xavier de Rosnay are well aware of the expectations that have been placed on them.
"Yeah, we are aware of the hype of the game, of course, and the fact that people have been waiting for such a long time," Augé said in an interview with the BBC 1 radio show (via NINE1NINE). "On the other hand, we are aware, and we see this colossus approaching, and at the same time we see it a bit from the outside. So it was a good way for us also not to let these thoughts come into our minds and not intrude on our minds."
As for the overall sound of GTA 6'S soundtrack, Justice says that it pulled from various sources to create a unique "flavor" built around several instruments. While there's a subtle '80s influence in what has been heard so far, Justice says that there's far more to the score than just retro vibes.
"We never really put words on it. 'Oh, we need to make an '80s track,' Augé said. "We knew what we needed to do, and it happened to have this kind of flavor. But at the same time, the sounds are futuristic.
