I'm sure the artist formerly known as Prince would have loved it, at least

In this genAI world, every single leak that makes its way out into the world should be seen as more of a "leak" until proven otherwise. With that said, it does kind of seem like a remake of the first Persona game is on the way, with some footage supposedly leaking and showing it in action.

The leaked footage was shared yesterday to the GamingLeaksAndRumours subreddit, originally uploaded to the file-sharing site Gofile on Halloween, i.e. yesterday, i.e. October 31st. You will not at all be surprised to hear that, stylistically, it's incredibly in line with the vibe of contemporary Persona, a la the visual design established with Persona 5 that's been carried through to the Persona 3 and 4 remakes.

There's not a whole lot of footage to actually look at, just shy of two minutes all told. One bit shows the game's protagonist walking through a school at night before starting a battle. Again, the battle system looks like what you'd expect from Persona, being turn based and whatnot. The colour theme for this one is overwhelmingly purple, too, which at least lines up with the series' 25th anniversary artwork. What's perhaps slightly odd is that Persona 2's protagonist can be seen in battle; not sure if this is implying a combination of the two games, if two remakes are being made in tandem and it's a temporary use of assets, or if it's just an odd placeholder.
