More details have surfaced about a former Halo project that was reportedly scrapped—and as strange as it sounds, they might prove to be the best news the franchise could get at the moment. According to new reporting, Halo Studios' Project Ekur, which was a hybrid of battle royale and extraction-shooter mechanics built on the bones of an earlier, already shelved battle royale, was fully canceled by Halo Studios earlier this year. I think that's great news, if it's true, and it should stay that way under Activision; it's hard to mourn a Halogame this far removed from what made the series matter, after all.
