Half of Control Resonant's players were 'new' to the franchise

Players unfamiliar with Remedy's 'new weird' action series helped drive Control Resonant to over one million units sold in just three weeks.

Remedy Entertainment has a particularly strong bit of good news standing out in its third-quarter financial results for fiscal year 2026. It's already riding a successful quarter thanks to the release of Control Resonant, raking in €39.6 million (about $44.3 million) in revenue, with an EBITDA of €6.8 million and operating profit of €0.6 million. That marks a 226 percent increase in its revenue, up from about €12.2 million from the same quarter in 2025.

That'd be a positive result for any developer, but for a cult-hit producer like Remedy that builds its business on a loyal fanbase, it has even better news to share: about half of Control Resonant's purchases to date have been made by players who didn't play the first game, Control.

"Reaching new players was a key goal for this game, and these early result indicates a growing audience for the franchise and for Remedy," said CEO Jean-Charles Gaudechon in a statement to investors, noting that Resonant is the first self-published game from the studio.

Many developers have reported that the task of finding new audiences in 2026 is proving to be a tall challenge, as data indicates many players sticking with their existing favorite games instead of trying out new ones.

Another interesting data point concerning audience demographics: console players in Brazil are becoming a bigger market for Remedy's games.
