GTA 6's Release Date Is About to Make Xbox's New Cloud Model Make Sense

Xbox has been making some pretty major moves over the past few months, some for the better and others for worse, but it is clear they are ramping up their gaming focus going into 2027. A big part of that attention is being placed on Grand Theft Auto 6, which players will be able to play via cloud streaming, so for those who don't own an Xbox console, you can actually play the latest Rockstar banger through a new pay-as-you-go model, rather than signing up for a full Game Pass subscription.

For existing Game Pass users, they will still have access to a limited number of cloud gaming hours depending on their subscription level, currently 5–15 hours a month. However, by releasing an updated cloud gaming model around the same time as the launch of Grand Theft Auto 6, Xbox is opening the doors for far more players than ever before. As great as the value proposition of Game Pass is, some players may only be interested in one single game, so if they can pay a few dollars to exclusively stream GTA6, then I think that a lot of fans are going to be more than happy to take that route.

With GTA 6 almost here, this is the best time to rank all of Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto games. Which one is the greatest of all time?

Cloud gaming has been around for quite some time, but it has never really hit the mainstream.
