Magic: The Gathering booster packs are changing, and there's a lot to unpack (pardon the pun) in the official announcement. The headline change is that God Packs are coming to Magic, with a 1 in 1,000 chance to find one in a booster box, or a 1 in 300 chance for Collector Boosters.
Other changes include removing foil common and uncommon cards, so packs no longer guarantee at least one foil. Cards are also being removed entirely from Collector Booster packs, meaning their value just got worse, but that's okay, because Wizards of the Coast says people who film themselves opening Collector Boosters just skip past the cards they're removing anyway.
God Packs will be coming to Magic: The Gathering with the introduction of Nauctis: The Sunken Realm, the first set on the MTG 2027 calendar. We've already covered the odds of finding one of these packs, whether via a regular booster pack or a Collector Booster, but here's what you actually get inside an MTG God Pack if you find it in a traditional booster.
The MSRP of both traditional booster packs and Collector Booster packs isn't changing.
As for Collector Booster God Packs, these are a little different and look like this:
In another positive change to packs, Japan Showcase Cards are now going to be possible to find in traditional booster packs. These have previously been locked behind the Collector Booster paywall.
Early signs show that two variants are more valuable than the rest, but it's proving hard to find prices for the serialized card.
