Gemini for Home is finally learning that ‘stop’ means stop

TL;DR Google’s first October update for Google Home brings improvements to Gemini for Home, including more natural conversations, better voice command handling, and consistent weather responses.

The Google Home app is getting redesigned controls for lights, plugs, and switches, alongside several camera fixes and usability improvements.

Compatible Matter devices, including Philips Hue lights, should now respond faster and more reliably thanks to improved local control through Google Home hubs.

To round off the month of September, Google rolled out a feature-packed update for Google Home and its Gemini integration, improving the AI assistant’s ability to hear you in noisy rooms, making it respond faster, improving multilingual conversation reliability, and more. The tech giant is following that up with the first Google Home update for October, delivering more natural ways to end conversations, easier-to-read answers on smart displays, redesigned lights, plugs, and switch controls, and more.

My Google Home app doesn’t look very different just yet, but thanks to Google’s in-depth release notes , we know about everything that’s coming.
