The release of Grand Theft Auto VI is shaping up to be a bonanza for gaming content creators — and some creators are already getting in on the action through dedicated streams and up-front time and money investments in GTA-related content opportunities.
In 2024 and 2025, Grand Theft Auto V was one of the most-streamed games on Twitch across 2024 and 2025, topping the platform’s charts in 2024 with well over one billion hours watched. With the November 19 console release of Grand Theft Auto VI coming in just under a month, GTA is poised to dominate the livestreaming airwaves again in 2026 and 2027, making it imperative for content creators to get in on the action early and in unique ways.
To celebrate the upcoming release of GTA VI, creator Andre “Typical Gamer” Rebelo kicked off a beginning-to-end playthrough of the story of GTA V last month. Although he now operates as a variety streamer with a particular hand in Fortnite through his development studio JOGO Studios, Rebelo cut his teeth as a GTA creator and framed his GTA streams over the past month as a return to his roots.
“Every day for a month before GTA V’s release, I would release a 10-minute news video taking the information that was presented on news website and turning it into a video format, which was pretty different at the time,” Rebelo said in an interview with GamesBeat. “I released one video, it did pretty good — it got like 20,000 videos in a day.
