Embark shares ARC Raiders play data after a year: 6 billion rounds played

Embark Studios disclosed some play milestones for ARC Raiders today, a year after the launch of the sci-fi extraction game.

The title did surprisingly well at launch in competition with Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 and Battlefield 6, and it lured in players like me who were surprised at how fun the tension could be over “friendly or not” encounters with other players.

The numbers so far: six billion rounds played (I’ve logged in more than 200 hours at the game). Over 14.8 billion ARC destroyed (Some of those are mine). The Anvil is the favored weapon of the Rust Belt (Also my favorite). More than 6,800 tons of food fed to Scrappy (You pay your tax to Scrappy and the chicken returns the favor in scrounging for you).

A total of 3,920,595 Queens have been destroyed. More than 2,919,521 Matriarchs have been destroyed (Some of those by me, in a gang). 5,643 Raiders healed by one Raider (Not me). 3,625 Raiders taken out by a volcanic rock (Fortunately, not me). Apricots are Scrappy’s favorite food. Go figure.

At the end of May, Nexon said that ARC Raiders had sold more than 16 million copies. And check out the video we did with Embark CEO Patrick Soderlund and former Nexon CEO Owen Mahoney.

There’s about 69,000 or so players on Steam right now playing the game. The record peak was 465,097 concurrent players according to Steamcharts. The average player count saw a 219% gain in the last month thanks to the October 8 launch of The Frozen Trail update.
