Elden Ring just got a major patch alongside its new “Tarnished Edition,” an updated version of the game for Nintendo Switch 2 that you can get on every other platform with a $5 upgrade. You don’t have to pay money for the various buffs and nerfs in the patch, but the paid upgrade does get you some horse cosmetics and four new sets of armor for your character, including a set both inspired by, and dropped by, a familiar face from, of all things, 2014’s Dark Souls 2.
Two of the new armor sets are attached to two of the new starting classes in the game, the Heavy Knight and the Idus Knight. The other two are found out in the world, and one is in the hands of a character named Knight Leontiel. Knight Leontiel is a newly added invader who shows up in Starscourge Radahn’s battle arena after he’s defeated. You can encounter her by running north from the Site of Grace and continuing toward the catacombs until you’re automatically dismounted from your horse, and she invades.
She’s not too tough to beat, especially if you’ve already finished the game and/or its Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, and the rewards are worth it. You get her full set of armor: her Greatsword, legs, chest, helm, and greaves. It looks like this:
So who is Leontiel? Well, no one, but if you’ve played Dark Souls 2 , you might recall a Lucetiel of Mirrah who wore something awfully similar to this.
