Dragon Ball Z’s Strongest Super Saiyan Form is Getting an Upgrade

At the end of Dragon Ball Z, Super Saiyan 3 was Goku's strongest transformation. Without God Ki and Dragon Ball GT shenanigans, Super Saiyan 3 is the peak of what a Saiyan can achieve without being a literal legend like Broly himself. While Super Saiyan 3 couldn't stack up against Gohan's Ultimate form or any version of Super Buu, SSJ3 Goku could have killed Majin Buu in their first fight and transforming was enough to shake the entire galaxy.

Following the premiere of Dragon Ball Super: Beerus Episode 1, Kazuhiko Torishima took to X to reveal that the first episode made him "grumpy."

The Beerus Saga in the original Dragon Ball Super anime failed to do Super Saiyan 3 justice, but SSJ3 Goku is getting a beautiful new redesign. Dragon Ball Super: Beerus is updating Super Saiyan 3 Goku with one HFIL of an upgrade right in time for his first showdown with the God of Destruction himself. Sporting line art that better resembles Akira Toriyama's manga, a beautiful golden aura, and more realistic anatomy, Super Saiyan 3 Goku is about to get the comeback he deserves in Dragon Ball Super: Beerus Episode 2.

To say that Super Saiyan 3 Goku looked terrible in the original Dragon Ball Super anime would be the understatement of the century.
