Dragon Ball Z Brings Back Rare Green Kid Gohan Design

Gohan has been an absolute powerhouse since he was a young boy. Even before he started training, he had a higher Power Level than his father Goku and was the only reason the Saiyans didn't wipe out everyone on Earth at the start of Dragon Ball Z. In the same way the original Dragon Ball was about Goku's journey from a boy to a man, Dragon Ball Z is really Gohan's story. Had Toriyama managed to keep Gohan in the lead role as intended, there'd be no question of that fact.

Part of what makes Gohan interesting compared to Goku is how often he changes his outfit compared to his dad. Gohan has worn Piccolo's gi, the Turtle School uniform, Saiyan armor, and even his own tunic and workout gear. What many fans might not know is that Gohan's original demon gi design in the Dragon Ball manga was actually different from Piccolo's, featuring a green color scheme instead of the signature purple anime fans know and love.

No man lives forever, not even in Dragon Ball, and across the franchise's many timelines, Goku suffers a surprising variety of deaths.

In the latest entry of the Toriyama Archives, the Official Dragon Ball Site has unearthed a rare piece of art from Akira Toriyama.
