Dragon Ball is all about breaking one's limits. From the very beginning, Goku has been training and fighting non-stop to set new records and prove that he can achieve quite literally anything. Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball Super doubled down on this idea by canonizing the notion that Saiyans are a race known for breaking their limits.
Naturally, Dragon Ball has its fair share of Power Limiter forms that keep characters from reaching their full potential – at least not without some work. The strongest Power Limiter forms in Dragon Ball are only one step away from turning into the most powerful transformations in anime history and already plenty dangerous without their true upgrades.
Dragon Ball Super’s Toyotarou has dropped a bombshell of a lore reveal – debuting Frieza’s real right hand man.
Both versions of Broly come equipped with power limiters courtesy of their fathers, but DBZ Broly's crown is the far more interesting device. In Dragon Ball Z: Broly – The Legendary Super Saiyan, Broly's Ring actually creates a mutation within him whenever he tries to turn Super Saiyan. Instead of activating the regular form, Broly switches into Super Saiyan A-Type, a pseudo form that still manages to be quite deadly.
Even with just Super Saiyan A-Type, Broly is able to make the Z-Fighters sweat.
