Dog Tags in MW4 DMZ, Explained

Dog Tags are your primary source of progression in MW4 DMZ, as you'll need to keep them in order to gain Trait Points to enhance your Operator. If you're curious how many Dog Tag levels you'll need to Prestige, or you want to know what happens if you lose or steal them, then we'll cover everything you need to know right here.

Irradiated Containers have some truly OP loot inside them, but you'll first need to know where to get them and how you can open them.

Dog Tags indicate your active Operator's level, and you'll rank up your Dog Tags through successful deployments, which means you need to kill AI enemies and other players and loot!

Every time your Dog Tags level up, you will earn a Trait Point that can be spent at the FOB in one of the three Trait Trees to further enhance your Operator's abilities.

There are 18 Dog Tag Levels, and upon reaching Onyx III, you can Prestige that specific Operator to reset them back to Steel I, but it provides you with a permanent Pro version of a randomized Trait.

You can lose your Dog Tags by getting killed during a deployment. If another player kills you and steals your Dog Tags, or you are killed by AI enemies, then you will be forced to return to base, where you must then pay to get your Operator back.

The DMZ Cash required to get your Operator back increases with every Dog Tag Level they have, so the more Traits, the more expensive it will be to return them to active duty.
