Star Wars: Galactic Racer does not feature split-screen co-op, but it offers plenty of multiplayer options if you're looking to jump into high-energy races and competitions online with friends and strangers. Below, we'll outline everything you can expect from Star Wars: Galactic Racer if you're interested in the multiplayer elements!
Star Wars: Galactic Racer does not feature couch co-op and local split-screen multiplayer simply because it would be too intensive on the hardware. The races are extremely fast, and the graphics are truly stunning; unfortunately, co-op would compromise how the game looks and feels, which would lead to worse fidelity and frame rate, which in turn results in a worse experience.
While you can't play in local co-op, you can still play online with your friends! Star Wars: Galactic Racer is cross-platform, so you can all play together regardless of who has a copy on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam or Epic Games)!
Star Wars: Galactic Racer's Multiplayer features 12 players in the Multiplayer Tour and Quick Race events, but if you want to play Quick Podrace or Podracing Tour, then it's a total of 8 players instead. If there are no full lobbies, then you won't have to wait to start, as AI-controlled players will populate the race!
To join friends, press the Party button in the top-right corner in the Multiplayer tab and invite them. As of launch day , you can have a total of three players in a Party. However, Fuse Games is working on an update to increase the Party size to 6 players ; then you can all jump into Multiplayer against randoms together.
