Dispatch Director Shoots Down Robert And Malevola Romance

Dispatch director Chris Rebbert has shared his thoughts on the much-requested Malevola romance, and it’s not looking good for a potential second season.

When Dispatch first released a little over a year ago, it very quickly garnered a big community that was eager to see what each new episode brought. I’d argue that things really blew up in the fourth episode when Robert was forced to choose between going on a date with Blonde Blazer or hanging out with Invisgal.

That tough decision turned Dispatch from a hit into a phenomenon, with romance being all that most fans could talk about. It wasn’t just about Mandy and Courtney, though, as the Dispatch community quickly started begging for more options, with Malevola easily being the number one pick. AdHoc has poked fun at the requests before, but it’s now very clear just how realistic the romance is.

As pointed out by Twitter user DomTheBomb in a post that’s gone viral in the Dispatch community, the game’s recently added commentary mode includes director Chris Rebbert highlighting the ongoing Malevola romance requests. In the commentary for Episode 6, Rebbert admits that it’s something people will probably “hate” him for saying.

Dispatch stars Laura Bailey, Travis Willingham, and Alanah Pearce on the superhero adventure game from former Telltale talent.

Rebbert goes on to say that he doesn’t think that “Malevola has any romantic or sexual interest in Robert” and that she “just enjoys toying with him and making him uncomfortable”, in reference to the scene in Episode 6 that most took as a sign .
