Dead by Daylight Is Losing Another Horror Icon

Just a few days before Halloween, developer Behaviour Interactive had an unfortunate announcement to make regarding Dead by Daylight. In November, the game's Chucky Chapter will be removed from the multiplayer horror game, giving players a few weeks to decide if they want to acquire Chucky content before it's gone.

It's not the first time Dead by Daylight fans have had a horror icon taken away from them.

Over the years, Dead by Daylight has collaborated with numerous horror franchises, allowing fans to get a firsthand experience with their favorite universes. Unfortunately, some of these collaborations aren't permanent due to licensing issues. For example, Behaviour Interactive removed Hellraiser's Pinhead in 2025 and pulled Michael Myers from Dead by Daylight in early 2026. The license for the Halloween franchise expired and was not renewed, possibly because of the release of Illfonic's Halloween: The Game in September — a game with similar mechanics.

It was speculated that Chucky would face the same fate due to leaker reports and other indicators on social media. Unfortunately, the rumors turned out to be true. On Oct. 23, Behaviour Interactive revealed that the next few weeks would be fans' last chance to acquire Chucky content in Dead by Daylight before its removal.

Chucky content can be obtained in Dead by Daylight until Nov. m. ET. After this, the DLC will be removed from platforms and unavailable for purchase. Current owners will retain access to the Chucky DLC, which means they can level up the character and get his add-ons and perks.
