DC's New Clayface Movie Makes a Strong Case for a Hitman-Style Stealth Game

Batman has always been a DC favorite for many people, so it is not very surprising that he has also been the star of a few successful video games as well. And even though he has done a great job as a protagonist, there are other characters from his universe that may also deserve the spotlight. In fact, with the new Clayface movie bringing Matt Hagen back, this just seems like the perfect opportunity to explore what the villain could bring to the table when it comes to video games.

Unlike Batman, who relies on shadows, gadgets, and silent takedowns, DC Studios' Clayface could use his shapeshifting abilities to infiltrate enemy territory by impersonating guards, officers, or virtually anyone else. In fact, combining the social stealth mechanics of Hitman with Prototype's shapeshifting abilities has the potential to create a different kind of tension, with players not necessarily having to hide from their enemies constantly.

DC has shown a few different iterations of the Caped Crusader. Here are the ones that were undoubtedly the strongest Batmans in the franchise.

One of the best things about Hitman is that players are not constantly forced to sneak around to complete their objectives because Agent 47 can steal disguises and pretend to be someone else. However, Clayface actually has the opportunity to take this mechanic even further because he wouldn't need to steal anyone's clothes in order to impersonate them; he could just transform into whoever he wants. To give an example, he could just transform into a high-ranking official and enter a police station without having to put much effort into it.
