Crunchyroll is known as the biggest anime platform for fans outside of Japan. It features many fan-favorite mainstream series, as well as some more niche franchises. Among the plethora of amazing anime series on the platform, there are a few that stand as dominant forces. These include series such as Solo Leveling, One Piece, Demon Slayer, Jujutsu Kaisen, and the now newly revived anime by Studio Pierrot, Black Clover.
Black Clover Season 2 has brought the series back to life after a 5-year-long hiatus, and its success is clear as day on Crunchyroll, where ratings continue to rise every day. For the fall 2026 season, Black Clover has been the undeniable King of Crunchyroll, and it still has plenty of time to hit new milestones.
Black Clover was a decently popular shonen series in the 2010s. In large part, its success was attributed to its anime adaptation by Studio Pierrot, which first brought the series to life in 2017, following its 2015 manga debut in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump, by creator Yuki Tabata. Despite the adaptation by Studio Pierrot being underwhelming, it still did enough to get the series on many anime fans' radars. Sadly, because of Yuki Tabata's health issues, which caused the Black Clover manga publication to slow down and switch magazines, Studio Pierrot was forced to put the anime on hold in 2021, much to the disappointment of the fans.
Luckily for fans, during Jump Festa 2025, the return of Black Clover was officially confirmed.
