CRKD's tiny controller got a growth spurt, but the new Atom+ is still a perfect travel-friendly pad

The CRKD Atom+ has gone through some upgrades to merit its new 'plus' namesake, and its new size is exactly what I had hoped for when I first learned of the improved version of the retro-inspired gamepad.

Don't get me wrong, it's still teeny tiny and should never be used as a day-to-day Switch 2 Pro controller substitute, unless you want some Mario Kart World with a side order of wrist cramp. However, the £29.99 (via Amazon) growth spurt has made it big enough to stand out amongst my messy game room, while remaining the ideal compact shape to take up little to no space in my Switch 2 bag. Nights ruining my friendships with hours of Dokapon Kingdom have never been better.

The CRKD Atom+ currently has an introductory sale price at Amazon US, but those of you in the UK will have to settle for its full £27.99 MSRP.

UK: £27.99 at Amazon

Whenever I pop over to my friend's house to witness the full depravity of their evilness through hours of Dokapon Kingdom, I have a fear. Not the fear of them constantly starting battles with me in the game (though that does happen often), but the fear of damaging any controller I bring with me for the Switch gaming times ahead. The Atom+ has circumnavigated that. Despite being larger than the OG Atom , it still demands far less case space than any other of my Switch 2 controllers, which makes it less prone to damage.
