Countries With the Most Apple Stores in 2026

Apple has built a major retail presence across the world with hundreds of company-owned stores. As of 2026, the company operates about 537 official Apple Store locations across 27 countries, with the US accounting for roughly half of them.

The United States is home to the most Apple Stores worldwide, with 269 locations. Apple opened its first US store at Tysons Corner Center in Virginia in May 2001. The company continues to maintain a large retail network across American cities and states.

China ranks second with 50 Apple Stores. Apple opened its first store in China at Sanlitun, Beijing, in July 2008. The country now has more company-owned Apple Stores than any other market outside the US.

The United Kingdom has 39 Apple Stores, placing it third globally. Apple opened its first UK store on Regent Street in London in November 2004. The current network covers locations across London and cities including Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow and Edinburgh.

Canada follows with 28 stores, while Australia has 22. Apple opened its first Canadian store at Toronto’s Yorkdale Shopping Centre in 2005 and its first Australian store on Sydney’s George Street in 2008.

Europe also has several large Apple retail networks. France has 20 stores, Italy 17, Germany 16 and Spain 12. Japan has 11 stores, including the well-known Ginza location in Tokyo.

Apple’s retail footprint shows how differently the company has expanded across markets. The US alone has 269 stores, compared with 50 in China and 39 in the UK. Apple also operates stores in newer markets such as India, where its retail network has expanded since the first openings in 2023.
