Co-op firefighting simulator Rescue Ops: Wildfire releases early 2027 with Steam demo now available

Game developer Exkee has announced that its upcoming tactical co-op firefighting simulator, Rescue Ops: Wildfire, will officially launch for PC via Steam in early 2027. Starting today, players can get a hands-on preview of the intense firefighting action with a free playable demo, now live on the Rescue Ops: Wildfire Steam page. Developed in collaboration with real-world firefighting experts, Rescue Ops: Wildfire puts players on the front lines of global mega-fires. Recruits must navigate unpredictable terrain, deploy tactical gear, manage precious water resources, and rescue trapped civilians before dynamic blazes engulf entire landscapes.

Procedural Fire Propagation System: Powered by Unreal Engine 5, fires dynamically evolve and spread based on real-time factors, including wind direction, terrain elevation, vegetation density, and ambient weather.

4-Player Tactical Co-Op: Form an international task force to divide responsibilities: manage ground hose lines, cut firebreaks with chainsaws, or coordinate air operations in seamless single-player or up to four-player co-op.

Life-Saving Search & Rescue: Locating trapped civilians is the top priority. Provide field first aid, assess injuries, and coordinate emergency medical evacuations before fire lines close in.

Real-World Fleet & Tactical Support: Drive wildland fire engines through rugged terrain or call in heavy tactical support, including water bomber plane drops and helicopter supply runs.

Campaign & Sandbox Modes: Take on a structured narrative campaign following a global fire season, or create custom scenarios with randomized objectives and dynamic fire behaviors in Sandbox mode. “Wildfires present an ever-growing real-world threat, and with Rescue Ops: Wildfire, we wanted to deliver a simulation that captures both the raw danger and the team-driven strategy required to fight them,” said Toni Doublet, CEO at Exkee.
