Clayface Comes in Second to You Can See Everything at the Domestic Box Office on Halloween Weekend

Clayface has come in second at the domestic box office on the Halloween weekend as audiences continue to show up for Elizabeth Holmes documentary You Can See Everything.

It was a narrow victory for Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim's comedic look into the life of the controversial Theranos creator, thanks to an estimated haul of $10.6 million to the DCU movie's $10.4 million (Note: These positions could change once final totals are tallied Monday). You Can See Everything's limited international rollout means Clayface is comfortably first globally ($22.8 million), but in what is technically the doc's third weekend in theaters, becoming the number one movie in the domestic market is still an impressive feat.

It's less of a warning of how audiences feel about Clayface and more of a sign that the behind-the-scenes peek at Holmes' life has real staying power. Originally released to just 855 theaters October 16, the Fielder doc has benefited from strong word-of-mouth and stellar reviews (IGN gave it a 10/10). Movie social media platform Letterboxd even pointed out that the project quickly emerged as its highest-rated feature film ever, with its first weekend in theaters landing it in second behind Street Fighter.

Returning with more auditoriums under its belt, You Can See Everything came in second again when Clayface brought moviegoers to a new Gotham City for its debut last weekend . With the spooky holiday bolstering the atmosphere, many wondered if DC's body horror movie could fend off the competition for Halloween, but at this point, at least, Holmes' story persevered.
