Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 has released a new statement addressing the state of cheating in the game. The new update hopes to reassure players about future attempts to stop cheating in COD: Modern Warfare 4, while revealing how the game has fared so far.
The Call of Duty series has long been engaged in a game of cat and mouse against cheat manufacturers. When one cheat vendor is taken down, it always seems as though there's another ready to take its place. This is despite Activision's legal efforts; the company even recently tracked down a Call of Duty cheat maker in real life to serve them a cease-and-desist demand.
A recent controversy surrounding the lack of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 reviews on Xbox is pushing Microsoft to improve its review system.
In a statement posted on X, Call of Duty reflected on the first week since the launch of Modern Warfare 4. According to the statement, early signs of the number of cheaters in Modern Warfare 4 are "encouraging," with fewer cheating reports than in last year's Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, and fewer active cheat vendors.
This statement details several reasons why COD: MW4 cheats haven't been as prevalent this time around. First is Modern Warfare 4 's innovative server culling technology , which makes wallhacks much more difficult. But there's also new DMA detection and stronger hardware enforcement this year, working together to deliver a much more cheater-free COD experience in MW4 .
