Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Just Gave Black Ops 7 a Surprising Second Chance on Xbox

The launch of Modern Warfare 4 has handed Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 an unexpected boon on Xbox and PC. Though the Treyarch title spent much of the past year as the franchise's punching bag, Modern Warfare 4 just arrived on October 23 as a standalone $69.99 purchase, and Activision has confirmed it won't join Game Pass until Holiday 2027. Black Ops 7, meanwhile, stays put in the Game Pass Ultimate library, which makes last year's shooter the newest Call of Duty that subscribers can play without buying anything extra.
