The official Xbox Game Pass Instagram account has accidentally revealed a previously unannounced day-one Game Pass release for October 2026. Shown as part of a Reel highlighting upcoming Xbox Game Pass releases was Castlevania: Belmont's Curse, slated for launch on October 15. Castlevania: Belmont's Curse was shown during the Xbox Showcase back in June, but wasn't listed as a day-one Game Pass release at that time.
New information about Project Helix, the next generation Xbox console, has been shared by Xbox CEO Asha Sharma at Gamescom 2026.
A now-deleted Reel posted to the official Xbox Game Pass Instagram account showed footage from Gamescom 2026 where the person recording the footage went around to various game booths, posing with a thumbs up on games already available or coming to Game Pass. Games like Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy, Stranger Than Heaven, and Alien Deathstorm were all shown, signaling that these are games already available or planned to launch day-one on Xbox Game Pass. However, the video ends with Castlevania: Belmont's Curse also getting the thumbs up despite not having yet been confirmed for a Game Pass launch. Since the Reel has been deleted, it's unclear if this was just an announcement posted too early or by mistake, and an official confirmation may be coming in the near future.
