Every assault rifle in Modern Warfare 4 can compete fairly well when used in their intended engagement range, but the ones on the top of this list shine brighter than the others simply due to how much easier they are to use. The further down a gun is on this list, the higher its skill requirement.

The Han 86 in MW4 quickly became a fan-favorite weapon thanks to its high lethality at up to 30 meters, as well as its low recoil backed by a steady fire rate. This assault rifle is extremely competent, and it rewards players who can score kills early in their burst, as while the Han 86 doesn't kick as hard as other guns in MW4, its recoil pattern sends its muzzle veering off harshly to the right on the tail-end of a mag dump.
