Analogue's Super Nt and Mega Sg models are back with significant improvements
As original hardware ages, playing retro games becomes less practical for many reasons. Analogue strives to keep retro games alive by providing modern hardware capable of running games that are decades old. It did so with the launch of the Super Nt and Mega Sg in 2017 and 2019, respectively. If you missed out on these systems back then, you now have another chance to acquire them with the release of their upgraded versions: the Super Nt+ and the Mega Sg+.
Similar to the original models, the Super Nt+ and Mega Sg+ are consoles that use FPGA technology to read retro cartridges and display 16-bit games in high definition (up to 1080p) on widescreen displays. The upgraded systems include even more advanced features, such as Bluetooth and 2.4 GHz wireless support for controllers, USB-C power, and the ability to swap cartridges without powering off the console.
The Super Nt+ is compatible with over 2,200 SNES and Super Famicom cartridges as well as the original controllers. The Mega Sg+ can read over 2,180 cartridges originally released for the Sega Genesis, Mega Drive, Master System, Game Gear, Mycard Adapter, and SG1000. It is also compatible with their respective wired controllers, as well as the Sega CD.
Each system even comes with two cartridge cleaners, and more can be purchased from Analogue's store , so you can make sure your classic cartridges are in the best shape possible before you insert them into these new consoles.
