Amazon plans to invest USD 48 billion in India between 2026 and 2030, expanding AI, cloud, e-commerce and quick commerce operations. The investment follows Amazon CEO Andy Jassy’s June 2026 meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi. More than USD 21 billion will support AI and cloud infrastructure, while additional spending will strengthen fulfillment and delivery networks.
The Amazon investment in India will expand AWS capacity across Mumbai and Hyderabad while adding fulfillment centers nationwide. Amazon is targeting India’s growing digital economy through cloud services, AI tools, faster deliveries and wider seller access. The company also plans to invest USD 3 billion in quick commerce by 2030, according to recent Reuters reporting.
The latest commitment includes an additional USD 13 billion for AI and cloud infrastructure announced in June. Amazon had announced USD 35 billion across Indian businesses in 2025, taking the combined plan to USD 48 billion.
AWS will remain central to the strategy as Indian companies increase their use of cloud computing and artificial intelligence. Amazon plans to expand data center capacity in Mumbai and Hyderabad for startups, enterprises and government organizations.
The infrastructure will provide access to custom AI chips, managed AI services and developer tools. AWS also supports local data storage, which can help organizations build AI applications within India’s cloud ecosystem.
