After 3 Years, Solo Leveling Is Shutting Down Jinwoo's System

One of the best parts of Solo Leveling is its incredible combat system, and the core of it all is the protagonist, Sung Jinwoo. Sung Jinwoo’s powers were first unlocked after his near-death experience in the Double Dungeon. There, he was chosen and granted the powers of a mysterious System.

In the Solo Leveling anime, there's still a lot we don't know about Jinwoo's System, but Solo Leveling: Beyond the System, the upcoming movie, will officially take away all his powers and leave him in a nerfed state. When fighting the Architect, the man behind the System and these powers, Jinwoo's System is officially set to shut down. Of course, his triumph is still coming at the end, with new power-ups and the full restoration of all his abilities.

Solo Leveling finished airing its second anime season in March 2025 after an incredibly successful run. Over a year later, we still await the return of the Solo Leveling anime, now confirmed with a new project at Anime Expo 2026, which took place on July 4. Instead of a TV anime, this new project is planned as an anime movie by the same Japanese Studios, Aniplex and A-1 Pictures. A lot remains unknown about this upcoming movie, but it's clear as day that it's set to adapt the Ahjin Guild arc and the Return to the Double Dungeon arc . We know that because of its name, Solo Leveling: Beyond the System, and because of its key visual and teaser. Naturally, these two major arcs have major implications for the character of Sung Jinwoo.
