800 Social Users Paid to Promote Polymarket Esports Posts

Polymarket is paying more than 800 social-media users to quote-retweet its branded esports posts, with rates from $10 to several hundred dollars per post in crypto, according to reporting by ReaderGrev. Internal Discord instructions urged participants to make the posts look organic, while X’s “Paid partnership” tag is generally the visible disclosure.

That makes this more than another sponsor logo parked beside a tournament: the promotion is designed to travel through esports accounts and their audiences. A Polymarket representative wrote in the program’s Discord: “This needs to look organic.”

Polymarket offers markets on esports match and event outcomes, player statistics and, occasionally, possible team moves. Its Global product is inaccessible to bettors in the United States, while Polymarket US is subject to US regulations. The esports promotion program more than doubled in reported size between August and October, taking prediction-market marketing directly into competitive gaming communities.

The company has also been building its esports footprint through a partnership with GRID Esports. The paid social campaign is another route to an audience that already follows teams, players and tournament storylines.

One representative said in Discord that profiles resembling a Polymarket billboard looked awful. That message documents guidance about the appearance of posts; it does not establish that every participant hid their payment.

Participants are generally approached by email or social media, then invited to a private Discord with channels for individual games. Prompts link to posts and ask users to like and quote-retweet them, with submissions typically counting for 24 hours.
