The countdown is on for Harry Bosch's return in the prequel series, Bosch: Start of Watch, which airs its first two episodes on January 10 on MGM+. The eight-episode series will focus on Bosch's early days as a rookie LAPD cop in the '90s, amid racial tensions and police corruption. The original Bosch series launched on Prime Video back in 2014 and became one of the streaming service's biggest shows, spawning two spin-offs, Bosch: Legacy and Ballard.
With just over two months to wait until Bosch: Start of Watch airs, fans can fill their Harry Bosch void with these seven excellent crime shows. Between compelling stories about corrupt police departments and extensions of Bosch's world, these series feature a mix of superb action sequences, tense police investigations, and flawed but brilliant professionals, making them an excellent Bosch replacement until Start of Watch finally hits the small screen.
The Bosch: Legacy universe is expanding with two very exciting spin off series currently in the works.
Timothy Olyphant stars as renegade US Marshal Raylan Givens in FX's neo-Western crime drama, Justified . Givens is reassigned to his hometown in Kentucky for a new start after a controversial shooting in Miami, but he soon finds himself confronting the history he left behind, including his long-running feud with former friend turned criminal, Boyd Crowder (Walton Goggins). Justified ran for six seasons between 2010 and 2015, returning for the spin-off series Justified: City Primeval in 2023. The crime series is consistently entertaining throughout its six seasons, thanks to the cast's stellar performances, compelling characters, and sharp, witty dialogue.
