Metro Redux, the post-apocalyptic FPS that has 4.6 out of 5 stars on PS4, has announced a next-gen update that will bring it to PlayStation 5 with several new improvements. Metro Redux is a remastered bundle of the first two installments, Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light. So, PlayStation 5 is essentially getting two solid FPS games with great user reviews.
The new release marks a new milestone for the Metro franchise. Developer 4A Games recently said, "We have officially sold 50 million copies of Metro games across the globe." The current next-gen upgrade, therefore, serves as a thank-you note to the fans who helped drive the game's success, and existing owners will receive it for free.
PlayStation 5 is set to receive a brand-new open-world game that already has positive reviews on PC, based on more than 400,000 user ratings.
Developer 4A Games plans to release the next-gen Metro Redux upgrade on October 29. The PS4 edition of Metro Redux currently costs $29.99 USD, and PS5 users will pay the same price, while existing owners will receive the next-gen update as a free download. Metro Redux's PS5 edition will support 4K at 60 FPS, as well as upscaled 4K resolution at 120 FPS on supported displays. The upgraded game will also support PSSR on the PlayStation 5 Pro, which can improve the visuals even further. Metro Redux's gameplay will also benefit from DualSense Adaptive Triggers.
PS5 owners will be able to purchase each game in the bundle separately and still receive the next-gen upgrade.
