4.2/5 Co-Op Tactical Shooter Game Officially Available on PS5

Squad is a first-person tactical shooter that has been available on PC since 2015, but it is now also playable on PlayStation 5 through a time-limited free alpha preview. At the time of writing, the game has over 80% positive reviews on Steam and a rating of 4.3 out of 5 stars on the PlayStation Store. Squad is planned for full release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, but no specific release date has been announced.

In terms of gameplay, Squad is comparable to realistic war games like War Dogs and Arma. It pits 100 players against each other in 50-versus-50 matches across maps inspired by real-life locations. Squad also features several game modes, including options that involve capturing strategic territory before rival factions or invading enemy-controlled areas of the map.

PS5 players will soon experience one of 2025's best co-op titles, as the developers reveal when its anticipated console port will arrive.

As of October 16, players can download and play Squad for free on PS5. The offer ends on October 25, after which players will have to wait for the game's full release on the console or another free playtest. The PS5 version of Squad will launch with four game modes, six maps, and eight factions, but developer Offworld plans to add more content in the future. The release date and price have yet to be confirmed, but it's worth noting that Squad costs $39.99 on Steam.
