Karta AI, a Bengaluru-based startup that builds voice AI agents to handle inbound customer calls for banks, lenders, fintech companies and insurers, has raised $3 million (around Rs 28 crore) in a seed funding round led by PeerCapital and Cedar Hill Capital.
Wyser VC, CDM Capital and Seedstars also participated in the round, the startup said in a press release on Thursday, although it has not disclosed its valuation.
Karta AI said the funds will go towards strengthening the platform's end-to-end automation and multilingual capabilities, expanding deployments with financial institutions, and scaling its engineering and go-to-market teams.
Karta AI was founded in 2024 by Vijaypal Singh and Abhishek Kushwaha, both former Razorpay executives. Singh said the two had worked on internal AI automation at the fintech company before leaving to start Karta AI.
The startup began with chat-based automation and moved into voice in August 2025. It now offers an omnichannel customer communication platform across voice, chat, email and WhatsApp, though its main focus is voice.
According to Singh, Karta AI has 10-12 paying customers, including PhonePe, Pine Labs, Bajaj and Aavas.
Most voice bots are built to handle one specific query at a time. Karta AI's agents are designed to deal with several customer requests, or intents, within a single conversation, and to carry out the required workflows by connecting with a lender's or insurer's enterprise systems.
For example, a borrower may call to check the status of a loan disbursal and ask for a foreclosure statement on the same call.
