AI code testing platform Blacksmith has raised $66 million in a Series C funding round led by Sequoia Capital at a valuation of $1 billion. The round also saw participation from Premji Invest and existing investors Peak XV Partners, Google Ventures (GV) and Y Combinator.
The latest round takes Blacksmith’s total funding to $125 million. The company had raised $45 million in a Series B round led by Peak XV Partners at a valuation of $550 million, with participation from GV and Y Combinator.
Founded in 2024 by Aditya Jayaprakash, Aayush Shah and Aditya Maru, Blacksmith provides infrastructure for building and testing code. Its platform runs continuous integration (CI) workflows that allow developers to build and test software before code is merged.
The company said its annual recurring revenue (ARR) has grown 17 times since January 2026. The number of CI jobs running on its platform each week has increased from 5 million to more than 90 million during the same period.
Blacksmith said its platform runs CI jobs twice as fast and at 60% lower cost on average. More than 10,000 companies, including Ashby, Granola, Handshake and LangChain, use its platform.
The company manages nearly 10 megawatts of computing capacity across data centres in the US and Europe. It plans to expand its computing capacity at least fivefold in 2027.
The fresh capital will be used to expand its team and computing infrastructure, Blacksmith said.
The company operates in the software development infrastructure segment, where demand for code testing and validation tools is growing alongside the adoption of AI coding agents.
